Wowing this Wednesday with the very talented mother and son writing team, Wendy and Charles Siefken who wrote the awesome book, Kai's Journey.

Wowing this Wednesday with the very talented mother and son writing team, Wendy and Charles Siefken who wrote the awesome book, Kai's Journey.

“Dragons are thought to be a left over from the time of dinosaurs. What if they weren’t, what if they came to earth from another planet? What if they were intelligent and able to communicate with us? Find out how this story has a different twist to the old legend of dragons!”
My review
For seven years Kai carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Under the most unconventional circumstances, Kai and Clover meet. There was an instant chemistry between the two. Somehow Kai knew more about Clover than she could have imagined.

Even though the town was taken over by zombie's there were people that were able to continue living and enjoying what they had left of their lives. When the zombies took over many people perished but a surprising amount of people survived. They had not stopped living. They just found a way to adjust even though they had to live in a cave with no windows.

This story is one of survival but also zest for life. Still finding happiness through the most difficult of times. It reminds me to appreciate what I have and to be grateful.

Most stories about zombies and other creatures are not usually as touching as this. There is a love story in this book that is so sweet. I was really swept up in the moment and enjoyed the suspenseful ride that this unusual story took me on.

"Kai turned to see the most beautiful girl standing before him; she looked pretty close to his age, and fifteen or sixteen years old and had beautiful white hair that flowed down her back. Her blue eyes glowed like sapphires in the firelight. The life he saw in her face took her breath away. For so long now people had a dead look on their faces. They had lost all hope and seemed to be just trying to survive one more day. This girl radiated life and had a sparkle in her eyes."

After his father accidentally releases a killer virus into the world, Kai is left alone to battle the creatures the virus created. While fighting for his existence in the barren post-apocalyptic world, Kai runs into an unlikely ally in a young woman named Clover.

Fueled by a flicker of hope, the two teenagers join forces with a rag-tag band of survivors in a heroic journey. Can the human race endure?

Kimberly Hughes and Tamy Burns "Fateful Night is 99¢ and "Darkest Day" will be released on September 17!

I am so happy to have Kimberly Hughes and Tamy Burns on my blog today! Their  book "Fateful Night" is 99 cents right now and their book "Darkest Day" will be released on the 17th, and their launch for that book is this Friday, Sept 20th.

If you haven’t read book one, this is the perfect time to pick up Fateful NightBook One!!!!

Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide? Did someone get away with an elaborate plot to murder the famous sex goddess? On that “Fateful Night” in August 1962 find out what may have happened to her and why she was killed. Many argue that she was involved in way too many secrets from different factions of the world. She was a smart woman who could play the dumb blonde to attain her stardom yet she unwittingly learned of conspiracy plots and political threats that would not only end her life but that of the current president, John F. Kennedy.

In this fast paced suspense every major player of the early sixties is involved, from the world politicians, to the Rat Pack, to Hollywood, and the mafia. What if Marilyn Monroe had lived and what if what she knew could have saved JFK?
Fact or fiction? What if....

Darkest Day, Book Two (What She Knew Trilogy)

On the tragic day of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the nation mourns the loss of a president who stood for radical change and whose charisma carried him through the masses with never before seen devotion.  Kennedy’s determination to pay the U.S. back for his good fortune never wavered, with a presidency riddled in strife from the Cuban Missile Crisis to the Cold War and finally to the Vietnam conflict nothing was easy for him.

In this fictional novel, Kennedy isn’t on a world tour or even in Texas in 1963.  Instead he is in the Alps recovering from back surgery, a ruse that he had planned with Bobby, and his double months in advance of the tour.  With the oval office tapped and the ever present Bobby running interference there was little likelihood that anyone would realize this was not the president.  In fact, no one did.

Now, the world believes they’re beloved president is dead, there is no going back for Jack.  While the decisions are difficult, it is far better to leave his ‘death’ alone than to risk political failure for his family clan and ridicule for his young widow.

Kennedy must now take on another face, name, and identity.  Who is behind the assassination? What was the ultimate goal in killing the president? Was it to topple the American government and take down the Kennedy’s with it? Find out in this action packed conspiracy novel.

Madison Johns book Senior Snoops, cozy mystery (Book 3) (An Agnes Barton senior sleuth mystery) is just 99¢ right now.

I am pleased to share Madison Johns on my blog today. Her book Senior Snoops, cozy mystery (Book 3) (An Agnes Barton senior sleuth mystery) is just 99¢ right now.

True to his words, Sheriff Clem Peterson sends Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason packing to Florida via a Cessna, but things go haywire when during a fuel stop, two men shoot the pilot. Agnes springs into action slamming the door just as shots are fired while Frank Alton jumps into the cockpit flying them out of there.

When they land in Florida, they’re asked tough questions by Putner and Palmer from Homeland Security. They keep asking if they found a packet on board the plane, a packet that Agnes has tucked in her purse, but they never mention what’s in the packet. She decides to hold onto it; after all it contains twenty-five thousand in cash.

Sheriff Calvin Peterson, Sheriff Clem Peterson’s brother, picks them up from the airport in Florida, but tells them the bad news. His brother Clem made arrangements for them to stay at Sunny Brooke Retirement Village and work as the hired help to pay for their room and board. They go unwillingly, but discover in town that two maids have disappeared at Sunny Brooke.

It’s a race against the clock; will Agnes and Eleanor solve the case of the missing maids and finally figure out what happened to their pilot before they also show up on a milk jug?

Maybe it is a good time to go back to the beginning!!!

Senior sleuth — Grandma Mazur meets Murder She Wrote — cozy mystery.

Agnes Barton is not your typical senior citizen living in Tadium, MI, on the shores of Lake Huron. She drives a red hot Mustang, shops at Victoria's Secret, rankles local police officials, and has a knack for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.

What does a murder that happened forty-three years ago have to do with missing tourist Jennifer Martin? Agnes makes it her personal mission to find out, and she's not letting the fact she's seventy-two get in the way. Butting heads with Sheriff Clem Peterson is something she's accustomed to, but lately Clem seems to be acting even more strange, making Agnes wonder what he may be hiding ala the Martin disappearance.

Agnes’ partner in crime, Eleanor Mason tags along, Watson to her Holmes.
Together, they unearth clues. If only Eleanor would behave, as although lovable, she has a knack for getting into trouble by tangling with her rival, Dorothy Alton, or flirting with anyone—male or female—and gossiping! She's incorrigible, but she does carry a Pink Lady revolver in her purse, one that has proved useful at times.

Life for Agnes and Eleanor is shaken up when Agnes' former boss and secret crush comes to Tadium. Before long, the lady sleuths have more on their hands to contend with as goons roll into town and bullets begin to fly.

Senior Sleuth

Senior snoop, Agnes Barton, has taken up residence in a Winnebago at a campground in East Tawas, Michigan. It’s not the ideal place for a woman of seventy-two to live, but she’s making do. She had planned to start a detective agency with partner in crime, Eleanor Mason, but a snag with the license has them free wheeling it, not that it matters because they are the ones folks call when dead bodies turn up.

A frantic phone call has Agnes and Eleanor racing to the scene of yet another crime scene. Herman Butler has fallen to his death from a third story window, and the widow, Betty Lou, is beside herself with either grief or competing for the Oscars, and it’s up to Agnes and Eleanor to unravel the mystery, which gets more interesting when a ghost is listed as a possible suspect.

This time around, Agnes and Sheriff Peterson can agree, the widow is nuts, but wait, a few days later the ghost ship, Erie Board of Trades, was spotted off the shores of Lake Huron. Ghost hunters, G.A.S.P., hightail it into town, and East Tawas is overrun with ghost sightings.

Agnes and Eleanor must sort fact from fantasy before another body is found or a curse is realized.

Amazon bestseller ~ Agnes Barton mysteries.

Kimber Lee's 99¢ Blog Tour for 'Lord Tristan's True Love'

I am pleased to share in the festivities of Kimber Lee’s 99¢ blog tour for Lord Tristan's True Love

Did you know that the society of Regency England forced members of the ton to marry should they been seen in public together? The unescorted young lady’s reputation would be quite ruined otherwise.

This book is one such story and tells of Miss Caroline Denise Whittingham’s misadventures in trying to get her betrothed to ‘cry off’. Unfortunately, one of her scheme’s has her thrown out of the realm of society and her betrothed, Lord Tristan Darlington, refuses to end the engagement until she finds her way back into their good graces. Of a certainty the odds of regaining favor with the peerage are slim, in 1820 London, but Lord Darlington is a great friend of the Countess Lieven and enlists her aid.

Caroline finds him to be a pompous, stuffy lord who is puffed up with himself and his reputation; not caring a whit for her. In her efforts to expel Lord Darlington, she is deliberately rude to him in public and pretends that she is afraid he will hurt her. These escapades force him to show his nastier side to the peerage that he so desperately wants to impress.

On the day that their engagement is announced in the London Times, there is to be a grand ball. Caroline presents herself in a most inappropriate gown and causes everyone in the room to turn their backs to her. Lord Darlington merely comes to her side and forces her to dance the waltz with him acting for all the world as if nothing is amiss. Once the dance is over, he leads her into the gardens to show her how women are treated who behave so outrageously.

The tearful pleadings to her strict parents all prove to be in vain. Miss Whittingham cannot seem to win in this matter of the heart, for her father is certain that she should wed to save the family from disgrace. Her temper tantrums and quick wit keep the story moving swiftly, carrying the reader from page to page like rapids in a river.

The sparring between Miss Whittingham and Lord Darlington cause many a raised eyebrow in society, which makes the book amusing and charming to read. It is my sincere desire that you will find this book energetic as well as entertaining for it has been a pleasure to write.

Phillip Brandenburg was handed an ultimatum in his grandfather's will—marry or forfeit the fortune, estates and title. With the season ended, he had little choice but to go to his country home to find a local woman of birth to marry. What he found instead was a passionate armful with a parcel of danger following her...those who kidnapped her had claimed she was a princess, but Victoria was not as certain. To make matters worse she had fallen in love with her rescuer and protector. Could she dare to love him when she did not even know her own true identity?

Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide? Did someone get away with an elaborate plot to murder the famous sex goddess? Nicole Storey's Cover Reveal and Excerpt for her upcoming release, Grimsley Hollow: The Longest Days of Night (Book 4 in the Grimsley Hollow Series)

Today I am excited to share an excerpt from Nicole Storey's upcoming release and new cover for  Grimsley Hollow: The Longest Days of Night (Book 4 in the Grimsley Hollow Series)
“He was burning. The toxin coursed slowly through his veins like liquid napalm. It set his blood to boil before searing every drop away, leaving him parched, desiccated. His swollen tongue scraped along the roof of his mouth like sandpaper. What he wouldn’t give for a drink of water – anything -- to put out the raging fire that consumed his body.
The boy tried to move his hand, but the intense pain kept him immobile. How long had he been in this state? It felt like days (weeks?) since he first began this suicide mission; since pain and darkness overtook him and dragged him down to this place where no one else could reach. Was it worth this suffering? Would the plan work or would he be forever condemned to a life of savagery and isolation?

He felt something, maybe a bone, pop out of place in his shoulder area. The boy clenched his teeth even tighter to keep from crying out. He knew it was dangerous for children to undergo the change; the toxin was too strong for their underdeveloped bodies. Often, bones would have to shift and break to make room for the increase of mass and muscle. The boy was not sure who was in the room with him, keeping vigil by the bed in which he lay, but he sensed someone, even though he could not hear them. He did not want to upset them more than they already were. The ever-increasing beat of his own heart filled his ears, pounding like a Native American hymn in his head, drowning out all other sound.
Another sharp pain was accompanied by a crack, followed by another. One by one, his ribs splintered like kindling to make room for his expanding chest. That, on top of the blistering heat that continued to cook him from the inside out, proved too much. Gage screamed, his body arching in the middle like someone possessed, before he succumbed to the longest days of night.”
It might be  good time to start at the beginning!!!!

"Gage Gilbert is an eleven-year-old boy who has autism, loves Halloween, and has no friends. Although he has always been happy with the safety and security of his family, he longs for a real friend and adventure - not just the ones he makes up in his head. Then, he meets Eve.
Eve is a young witch from another world called Grimsley Hollow. It's where all magical beings live in safety and peace, but their world is in trouble. Gage is the only one who can help save them from an evil witch who has taken control.

With Eve's help (along with a sarcastic pixy, a trouble-making werewolf, and a half-vampire), Gage travels to Grimsley Hollow. Together, they begin a journey that will change them all. It's a dangerous race against evil, where creatures unheard of stalk the land under a harvest moon and monsters that only exist in dreams become real.

Gage wanted friends and adventure, but he had no idea they would come at such a dangerous price. Can one autistic boy defeat an evil witch and help save his new friends? Travel to Grimsley Hollow and find out!"

"Grimsley Hollow is the home of all the magical creatures who once lived on Earth. Evil forces are trying to take over this realm, and destroy the peace and respect which has existed between different races. Eve, a young witch, records in her journal the events which lead them to seek the one person who can help them survive: The Chosen One."

For ages 12 – 120
A story that proves not all superheroes wear a cape.

"Grimsley Hollow is under attack again. Is Inari is trying to seize the Key of Opa and take control of all the magical people and fantastic creatures who live there or is she under the power of someone even more insidious, greedy and evil? Nazar has kidnapped Siren, a young Werewolf, hoping to draw out his family and friends, especially the thirteen year old autistic boy who holds the Key. Nazar has aligned himself with groups of werewolves and other creatures who have broken from the rule of peaceful Queen Aradia, and now believes he's invulnerable to any tricks or spells that would protect the Key. Nazar doesn't realize there is nothing stronger than the bond of friendship, nothing more enduring than the ties of family, and nothing more powerful than a boy who has discovered his own self worth and the magic that comes with believing in himself."

This is Nicole’s latest venture....

"Jordan's life seems to be going in circles. Orphaned, home-schooled and born into the family business, she doesn't have a lot of friends, she doesn't have a lot of choices. Her life is dominated by her uncle, her older brothers and a couple of annoying Angels who expect her to get off her backside and keep Evil in check. All she wants is a few days to herself, to relax, to dream and to listen to her Daughtry cds, but that isn't happening. Oh, well. Everyone has their demons."

Nicole Storey lives in the hot and humid part of Georgia with her husband, two amazing children, and plethora of pets. When she isn't travelling to magical realms with potty-mouthed pixies or fighting demons, she enjoys reading and reviewing books, blogging, and gardening.

Nadia Kilrick's new book, the first book in The Rough Hewn Trilogy, The People of Kilmservy Village is on

Since today is the day I am so excited to announce the arrival of Nadia Kilrick’s new book, the first book in The Rough Hewn Trilogy called The People of Kilmservy Village.

About Rough Hewn Trilogy

The shortest of the three books, book one will introduce the ancestors of the characters in the story. In this book, we meet the families who settled the village and learn why there has always been bad blood between the Stuttshire and Breckenship families. Here is where we also learn about connections between the families and the hardships they faced, as well as, the enduring friendships they made while carving the village out of the wild.

My Review:

This story is written in a way that gently takes you in and carries you to a different time and place. The author has a natural talent that makes you as a reader feel comfortable and tells a story so full of life and vivid color.

Rough Hewn caught my interest from the very first pages. The more I read the more I wanted to know what was going to happen next. This tale has heart and the turn of events were enough to peak my curiosity and at the same time made me wonder where this story was going to lead.

“Oliver grabbed his wife around the waist, held her high and swung her around in a circle. When he lowered her to the ground, he kissed her softly on the cheek. "I haven’t decided what I think of him yet. He strikes me as a man who is running from something. I could be wrong; maybe he’s running from himself. I can tell you this; I see a family that needs a new life. This could be the thing that sets him right, if that’s what he needs. I saw the weariness in his wife's face even though she tried to hide it from us. Let’s pray they choose to go. That, my dear wife, is all I have to say about the subject tonight."

Book 2 - Discoveries and Escape

This is the story of Carolyn Dunsmorrest Breckenship or, as we will come to know her, Carrie. In this, the second book in the trilogy, Carrie discovers the man she married, Jim Breckenship, is not only cruel to her, he is a serial killer. He sees her as a weak and stupid woman. She is not. She gathers evidence of his crimes, which date back to his childhood.

Carrie suffers greatly at the hands of her husband but is determined to prove he is the killer she knows him to be. She finds the strength and courage she needs by remembering those close to her that Jim has harmed. Enter an old love from before her marriage to Jim, Gabriel Stuttshire, and the fireworks are ignited.

Gabriel Stuttshire, we will know him as Gabe, has done well for himself since he left his hometown. He has everything he has ever wanted except Carrie. Coming home to his father's deathbed and finding Carrie in peril has stirred up old feelings in him. He becomes a rock for Carrie and the other friends he left behind.

Book 3 - Return to Kilmservy Village

After a brutal attack by her husband, Carrie finally escapes with the truth and little else but so does Jim. Jim continues to wreak havoc on the little village where they live making it evident to Carrie's friends that she has to leave town for her own safety. She has other secrets that she is not willing to share with her husband or friends. At least, until her husband is found and locked in the county jail. Then, she will help to put him in prison for life.

Carrie and her friends return to their hometown to assist in convicting Jim of his crimes. The residents of the close-knit village show little surprise at Jim's guilt. They are however shocked at the number of disappearances he has been involved with and that they have been living so near an evil deviant without realizing the sum of his malevolence.

Nadia’s other new release is Ziggy Returns available on

Minna Fuller finds herself in an odd predicament when her moonshine guzzling husband carelessly causes an accident that changes both their lives. Though relieved to have her life back, she would never have wished death on her husband. Being a man who always had to have the last word, Ziggy returns to their home to instruct her on how she should live the remainder of her life by offering a suggestion she finds far-reaching, even for him. Will Minna be able to rid her home of her husband’s ghost and finally get on with her life? Will she accept his blessing and set onto the path he envisions her taking or will she ignore him and the advice from her friends?

About Nadia

"Rather than go on about my daily life, I will simply share that the most rewarding roles I have had in my life are those of mother & grandmother.

Writing has always been an important part of me. When I was a child and teenager, I wrote poetry and short stories as a means of escape. I wrote as a young adult with dreams of publication which were unrealized.

I read true crime, mystery, suspense and thriller novels. Those are also the kind of stories I enjoy writing. I write about places & things that are special to me and about the people who have touched my life in some way. I do not always choose the happy moments over the sad ones in my writing because in my experience, there are many times when the lines are blurred between the two. I write what comes to me on the darkest of nights and the sunniest of days. I do this in fictional stories."

I live in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast (mostly known of the Moomin Valley). I’m a pre-school teacher by profession but I stayed home when my youngest daughter suffered brain fever, which developed severe epilepsy in 2004. I guess that’s when I first considered starting writing again as I had to stay awake and monitor her whilst she was sleeping and it can be really sleepy and boring when the house is quiet. I’m a workaholic and I always have a lot of projects going on at the same time. I write articles to the magazines and I’m a part of the team that makes Epilepsy Finland Magazine. I love chips, cheesy teen movies (and series too!), books, animals and I have a soft spot for the ones in need of a helping hand. A huge part of my royalties go to charity; mainly to help families with epileptic children but also to the epilepsy units in the hospitals.
